ARCS, CLINIC, and SAC call on USCIS to immediately publish a Federal Register Notice automatically extending work permits for Syrians on TPS for at least another six months and taking steps to ensure other TPS holders and their employers do not have to face this issue going forward.

Decision Follows Sustained Advocacy by Syrian American Organizations with Congress and Trump Administration
(Washington, D.C. - July 31, 2019) Tomorrow, August 1, 2019, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will announce its decision whether to renew Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Syrians. Today, 7,000 Syrians in the United States are on TPS and an additional 7,000 Syrians in the U.S. who would benefit from redesignation of TPS.
ARCS joined in a letter from 46 well-respected human rights, immigration, advocacy, and humanitarian organizations in calling for the extension and redesgination of TPS for Syria.
