SYRIAN RELIEF GROUPS MARK EID-AL-ADHA DETERMINED TO DELIVER AID AND HOPE

September 12, 2016

Members of the American Relief Coalition for Syria (ARCS) are marking Eid-al-Adha with hope that it will bring sustained peace to our brothers and sisters in Syria. The humanitarian crisis has worsened over the past two months, as regular bomb attacks in Aleppo and other cities killed hundreds of civilians. Despite a ceasefire brokered by the US and Russia requiring unhindered humanitarian access, aid is not being allowed to reach civilians besieged in Aleppo. ARCS members continue their commitment to reach Syrians in need of medical and humanitarian aid.

ARCS member organizations across the U.S. are commemorating this Eid-al-Adha with a renewed commitment to delivering direct aid to Syrians in need. Swasia, based in New Jersey, is celebrating Eid with Udhiya meat from local sources directly to families in Western Ghouta, Homs, Aleppo and Idlib. Last year, Swasia fed more than 1,000 families during Eid through Udhiya donations. Shaam Relief Foundation, based in Texas, Mercy Without Limits, based in Kansas, NuDay Syria, based in New Hampshire, Syrian Forum USA, based in Chicago, and Hope for Syria, also based in Illinois, will all be providing families in need with food to celebrate Eid.
