STATEMENT COMES AS WORLD LEADERS, INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND CIVIL SOCIETY PREPARE FOR THE UNITED NATIONS SUMMIT ON REFUGEES AND MIGRANTS.
Washington D.C. -- On October 25th, Syrian-American organizations, and members of the American Relief Coalition for Syria (ARCS), were in the nation’s capital, advocating for robust educational access of Syrian children displaced within Syria and the surrounding region.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was created in 1951, during the Second World War. The purpose of its creation was to help millions of Europeans who fled their countries and left everything behind.
Today, the world is still working hard, seeking the protection of refugees and helping them all over the world.
